Module/course Summary

Module/course Summary

For the sophisticated practitioner in the finance field, firm evaluation is the ultimate challenge. All the techniques and tools acquired during the studies of corporate finance are to be used for the most exciting of all goals: define how much a company is worth. A company is designed to be a perpetual creator of wealth, but as we all know, circumstances differ so much that each company has its own value and this value can only be estimated. As we deal with forward looking elements, firm evaluation is neither a science nor an art; it is rather a practice which uses complex financial tools. Most of these techniques and tools should have been already acquired during a serious Corporate Finance Course. They are then put to use to estimate company value. This exercise has tremendous importance in today’s financial market. Values of stocks are influenced by these estimations and top management of companies spend much of their time managing shareholders and stakeholders’ expectations.
