Module/course Summary

Course intended for M1, M2

For the last 40 years, the impact of digital technologies has been impressive in economy and society. In business world it has transformed the way we do things, the way we work, created new products and services, and even transformed entire industries. Nowadays this process is called Digital Transformation. A new wave of digital technologies is accelerating the pace of this transformation. 

This course is aimed at understanding this process, to think beyond the hype and, in a world where everything changes quickly, to give frameworks and distinctions that helps to analyse the change and benefit from the numerous possibilities it opens for business. The course will also provide a historical perspective of Digital Transformation in order to show that this process has actually existed for several decades under different names every time a new wave of digital technologies emerged. On the basis of this historical perspective the course will then focus on what is really new in recent years.  

Finally, the course will address the implementation issues of Digital Transformation, in which the human factor is really the critical success factor.
