Module/course Summary

This course intends to give to the participants a vision of the strategic role of procurement and the fundamental tools used by the professionals of the function (managers or consultants). At the end of this course, the participants will be capable of formulating a diagnosis of procurement and propose new strategies.
·         Procurement scope and development: Is procurement a strategic function? Measure the maturity of procurement function, the global procurement process, choose the best procurement structure, the procurement information system.
·         The steps of operational procurement: How to produce complete specifications? The relation between procurement and internal clients, how to find and qualify sources? How to choose the best suppliers and partners? 
·         Manage your suppliers: Suppliers and innovation, developing partnership with strategic suppliers, measure the supplier’s performance, help your supplier to improve
·         Portfolio Analysis: Methodologies to analyse the purchasing portfolio, the main levers of purchases, procurement strategies
·         Optimise your portfolio of services: The specifications of services, what are the main constraints? Examples of purchase of software, temporary work and institutional catering, how measure the performance?
·         How to negotiate the best deal? Necessary skills for successful negotiation, different types of procurement negotiations, the most important points in a procurement negotiation, how to prepare your negotiation?
·         Make, buy or make together?  Outsourcing methodology, pitfalls
·         How measure the Procurement performance? What’s performance in procurement? Measuring procurement performance, performance metrics in procurement
