Specialisation rationale

Despite the continued global economic and trade uncertainty, the decade following the financial crisis has been one of the most robust in the history of corporate activity, characterized by merger and acquisition (M&A) mega-deals, extremely successful Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), significant Private Equity (PE) activity, as well as record setting debt issuance levels. This trend is likely to persist as companies continue to restructure in an effort to strengthen their cash flows, reduce earnings volatility, and create structures able to withstand risks and uncertainties in the markets, while delivering the much sought-after investment returns. To achieve this, companies need strong advice by top-tier financial institutions who employ professionals with deep knowledge in the areas of M&A Valuation, Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Leveraged Finance, and Regulation and Compliance.

The London campus of ESCP Business School, enjoys the privilege of being at the heart of one of the most prominent financial hubs in the world. The City of London is home to the largest financial institutions, and thus provides an ideal location to study, network, and leverage learning through “local” experts in banking and finance. The specialisation in Investment Banking complements the MiM programme’s current curriculum, while enabling students to pursue a wider range of careers in the financial services industry, and/or to further study for pertinent professional qualifications.
