Module/course Summary


The aim of this specialization is to create and specialize the new generation of project managers and leaders to lead the modern reality of agile companies and the era of digital transformation, having full knowledge of the structure and organization of the companies, the modern enabling technology, and of international intensive projects, through the latest trends in digital project management and agile principles and practices.


It is designed for students interested in careers in the following fields:, business manager, complex project manager, digital transformation project manager, business consultant, strategic planner, product manager.


With this specialization, the students will be able to evaluate the need of an international-strategic-innovation project to be managed from an agile approach and what are the steps to first take in order to start-up an adaptive working process, giving tools and practices to boost the productivity, organization and collaboration within the project’s team.

Courses Introduction


DIGITAL & STRATEGIC PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT

INTRODUCTION
The course will provide the students with the methodology to be able to transform the business needs into a Digital & Technology (D&T) systems projects portfolio, create the portfolio management office, define indicators and dashboards to track performance, familiarize with portfolio management tools and manage projects dependencies across the portfolio.

The course also provides insights about main types and characteristics of D&T projects and the role of the digital or technology project manager.


AGILE PROJECT MANAGEMENT

INTRODUCTION
The aim of this course is to offer an approach of how to tackle complex projects, bringing the Scrum framework and Agile principles beyond software development to the broader world of Project Management, from the basic concepts of technical Scrum to a general view of how an Agile organization would be. This course contains material that can be used in the future as a basis for the first steps on a hybrid methodology development, adapted to different work environment.


LIVE CASE STUDY - AUTOMOTIVE PROJECT MANAGEMENT  

INTRODUCTION
The course is designed around a real project that the students have to deliver for a company.

Live Case Studies are seminars conducted with a partner company for the students to work on a consulting project related to a real issue facing the company at the time of the seminar. The aim of this courses is that the students apply the knowledge developed mainly in two courses (consulting methods and project management in practice) and, depending on the contents of the project proposed by the company, the knowledge acquired in other core or specialized courses (i.e. Digital Business Transformation, Human Resource Management, Organizational Design, etc.).

BIG DATA FOR SOCIAL SCIENCE

INTRODUCTION

During the last two centuries, social sciences have studied various disciplines centred on the human being such as demography, politics and psychology. All the studies carried out to date have allowed us to better understand the human needs and functioning of societies, contributing greatly to improving the standards of people's quality of life.
Before the era of Big Data, the classical methodologies and techniques used by the social sciences to perform their researches and increase their knowledge have always had high costs associated, causing it to be complicated to have data samples large enough to obtain exactly the objectives sought.
However, thanks to the enormous development of the computing power during the last decades, as well as the current ability to obtain and store data, the social sciences are evolving to another level that offers multiple advantages and new ethical challenges.
During this course, it will be explored the basic concepts of the social sciences, Big Data and how both can be integrated in order to achieve a knowledge of the human being that a few years ago would have been unimaginable.

ANALYTICS TOOLS & ADVANCED EXCEL

INTRODUCTION
In the actual world, data is constantly acquired and measured. Customer behavior, business metrics and geo-located payment transactions are only some examples of everything what is stored in millions of databases all over the world.

However, raw data by itself is useless because its lack of intelligence. It is necessary to process and understand it to be able to convert it into actionable insights.

The aim of this course is to learn how to implement optimal and efficient data intelligence models to cover the gap between data acquisition and decision-making processes.

ELECTIVE: MANAGING VIRTUAL PROJECT TEAMS

INTRODUCTION
Virtual Project Teams (VPTs), involving globally dispersed members who work together in digitally mediated environments, require new management skills for both their members and their leaders. This digital transformation of teams — from physically collocated to digitally mediated — affects project management in most industries, including engineering, hi-tech, and financial services, among many others. In this module, you will learn what management practices are necessary in order to work successfully within the VPT context. Through a combination of theory and practical in-class games and activities, we will be exploring questions such as: What leadership styles work best in VPTs? How can you unleash your creative potential when your teammates live and work in different time-zones? And how do you deal with conflict with ‘online strangers’ in your VPT?

ELECTIVE LIVE CASE STUDY: AIRLINE COMPANY (AMADEUS)

INTRODUCTION
The main objective of AMADEUS Live Case Study, is bring students to the reality and challenges Amadeus key enterprise in GDS in the tourism & travel sector, knowing the main trends in the sector, the company management procedures and its implications. The students will design and propose concrete managerial proposal, aligned to the specific scenarios and challenges of Amadeus.
