Module/course Summary

The purpose of the business consulting specialisation is to explore the role of management consultant, and how to manage and lead consultancy interventions within ethical and professional standards and boundaries. It considers the skills, knowledge and professional behaviours required to be an effective consultant. It covers an overview of the nature of the consulting industry, including its organisational arrangements, structure and culture; examines in detail the phases of the consultancy process; and introduces a range of tools and techniques to support and lead effective advisory engagements, as well as personal interaction with clients. Effective communication techniques are also stressed. The specialisation includes a strong practical component to give students an understanding of the ‘consulting experience’ from the point of view of the practitioner.
Students who wish to join this specialisation must provide an application package which includes a cover letter explaining their suitability for the specialisation and career aspirations, an updated CV, and other relevant information. Candidates must also provide evidence that they are fluent in English
