Module/course Summary

OutlineThis specialization is intended for students who want to pursue a professional career in Management with a specialized profile in the area of Investment Banking  The approach of the specialization is particularly useful for those students who look for the bridge between strategic and investment decisions on one hand and financing decisions on the other.  It bridges financial theory and practice and uses a large number of real cases that have strategic implications for companies. Its scope includes: from the basics of business analysis through accounting, corporate policies (debt vs. equity financing, risks, agency costs, etc.), to the final goal of shareholders’ value creation through the design of the capital structure, financial leverage, mergers and acquisitions, and other events such as bankruptcy and financial restructuring in different sectors. The specialization offers a holistic view of finance supported by a team of academics and practitioners.

We strongly recommend this specialization to those who want to succeed in the area of Investment Banking (Raising Capital, Advising in M&A, or General Advisory Services (i.e., strategic planning, business valuations, financial restructurings, fairness opinions, etc.)), as well as in Consulting, or Securities Analysis.
